History
A hallmark among private jet aficionados, the Gulfstream IV counts mega stars such as Tom Cruise among its many owners. The G450 was first designed in 1985 and the plane became so popular that Gulfstream Aerospace kept up production of new jets all the way until 2018, when the last brand new one was delivered. In addition to being trusted to carry the world’s rich and famous, the Gulfstream IV has also been responsible for some serious science. The United States National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) also owns a G450 which has been specially outfitted to carry scientists out to the edge of hurricanes where it can deploy a battery of sensors and scientific instruments.
