Glamping Around the World
These outdoor spaces redefine luxury glamping. While we often stay at some of the world's most fabulous hotels and resorts, our trips many times take us off the well-worn path to explore the wild side of life. Whether it's on a luxury safari, deep in the jungle or under the desert skies, there is no better way to complete an expedition experience than with an overnight stay in a luxury camping tent.
These are five of our favorites, all featured in journeys past and present:
Discovery Bedu – Wadi Rum Luxury Camp
Wadi Rum Desert, Jordan
Discovery Bedu is a luxurious overnight glamping tented camp experience in a spectacular location amid the Wadi Rum’s desert. Run by local Bedouins, Discovery Bedu offers six luxury tents perfectly positioned for stunning views of the sunset. The camp’s tented kitchen serves up authentic Bedouin meals infused with local herbs and spices.
Manvar Desert Camp & Resort
Thar Desert, India
In the heart of Rajasthan, Manvar Desert Camp & Resort brings to life an experience that dates back to the 17th century. Mughal Emperor Jehangir was famous for setting up fancy tents en route to the battlefields. Today, Manvar continues this tradition with its 30 safari-style luxury camping tents. Each glamping tent boasts expansive views of the desert, teak furniture and large, comfy beds. Enjoy your evenings around a campfire, entertained by local musicians and dancers, spectacular night skies and incredible sunrises.
Mombo and Little Mombo
Okavango Delta, Botswana
Mombo and Little Mombo are often cited by travel gurus as the go-to glamorous camping destinations in Botswana. Located within the Moremi Game Reserve, both luxury tent camps offer front-row access to sightings of the Big Five. Elegant, understated and timeless, these camps embody the classic spirit of safari. At Mombo, nine above-ground pavilions are connected by wooden walkways, but also have private balconies, en suite bathrooms and huge four-poster beds. Little Mombo is only steps away, an extension of the Mombo Camp, that offers additional privacy.
Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle
Chiang Rai, Thailand
Thailand is a guest favorite on the Around the World with Four Seasons classic journey. Here they have the option of splitting between two Four Seasons properties. For those seeking a natural escape, the Tented Camp Golden Triangle offers superb accommodations with stunning views and ease of access to jungle adventures and elephant trekking. Luxurious open-air tents include hand-hammered copper bathtubs and spacious outdoor decks.
Three Camel Lodge
Gobi Desert, Mongolia
Built to be environmentally sustainable, the Three Camel Lodge is traditional Mongolian camping in the Gobi. Guests stay in gers, the felt tents of the nomadic herders, outfitted with hand-painted furnishings, king-size beds and wood stoves. Each ger‘s door faces south, a Gobi nomadic tradition to provide an unobstructed view of the desert and the Gobi-Altai Mountains. A central house offers space for socialization, dining and performances.

Uluru, Australia
Perched at the edge of Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, Longitude 131˚ offers incredible views of Australia’s iconic monolith, Uluru. This luxury tented-camp is the ideal frame for the expansive desert landscape and the myriad of stars found in the Southern Sky.
