From the meals to the gala banquets to the constant gifts we found in our hotel rooms to the alternative daily activities, this was anything but a herd-everybody-together-to-see-the-Taj-Mahal type of trip. Even the game drive in Tanzania. I had no idea what to expect, but with the excellent safari leaders, we were constantly treated to the best animal sightings. And the hotels were, without exception, magnifique.

Never have Easter Island or Samoa been on our travel wishlist and Jordan presented considerable anxiety with the unrest in this area, yet each location provided special delight in eye-opening ways. We are better informed and compassionate citizens of the world after this trip. Riding camels in the Middle East and mules in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco certainly are among many indelible memories gleaned from this expedition!
